You don't have to tiptoe around me. I don't judge good or evil on any ironclad law. And with all the crimes staged in the name of order...

Former Siracusan judge who became acquainted with Rhodes Island through Operator Texas. Currently works in the Logistics Department and serves as legal counsel for Rhodes Island.

Atop briars she walks, cleaving a path brand new to her.
background;
A former judge of Volsinii, she sought to right the mockery of a justice system. Yet, in the end, she felt she became a mockery herself, only able to hand out justice backed by a famiglia herself, a don who swore she cold one day be a proper judge. She thought she understood him; did she really?

no subject
but anyway so on site you have your safety folks
they're generally in charge of newbie training and refresher training
(these are your rights as a miner, this is what you always do, here's a couple hour long movie about one of the great mining disasters which formed MSHA etc)
along with you know
making sure shit is up to code on site
handling surprise MSHA inspections
being there at the morning meeting to remind everyone how to be safe, sometimes with gory pictures on how electricity can fuck you up or how your face gets blown off
(that was this morning!)
(do not open blast caps with your teeth!)
(Especially if you have fillings!)
ANYWAY with that precursor
we originally had *two* safety people
one lady, one dude
and it was the lady who did my beginning training before i could be allowed to fuck around on site at all
very nice lady!
i got her little starbucks coffee twice, and she remembered, and slipped me one in turn on a day i forgot!
but the thing with safety is that they switch out
so the idea was that lady would be here for one hitch, and then when we started up again it'd be with the dude
and i thought we were in for lady this hitch
especially because I was originally scheduled to actually pick her up in the city a couple weeks ago but that got picked up by a different guy who was going there anyway
but then this work week starts
and there's no safety at the "Monday" meeting
and "Tuesday" has the dude back again
now i'm me
so i just assumed..... oh huh this is my brain fucking up or i didn't actually know the schedule
etc etc
except then i got to talking with our hoist operator when i was surprised called in today
(which is another storry and funnier)
and safety lady got brought up
and hoist was like.... oh yeah do you actually KNOW what went down?
WHICH OF COURSE I DIDN'T
but it turned out that when lady came the other week
at some point in that time when she tried to get onto the site
a security guy that had been hired was just
fucking
shitfaced
and *POINTED HIS GUN AT HER*
so like a sensible person, she turned tail and bolted down the street to, like, where we have a saloon literally like a couple minute's *walk* from the gate onto the property
BUT HE'S A DRUNK ASSHOLE HIGH ON POWER APPARENTLY, AND CHASES AFTER HER
and actually?? like???? slipped into the back of the saloon?????
TO *WAIT* FOR HER IN AN EMPTY AREA????????????????????????
so she uh
quit
very understandably
so i think we just now have the one safety, the dude
this is also apparently the third time that there's been shit going down with a security team ftr
(the mining company keeps replacing them)
(for obvious reasons)
and a kicker is that security shouldn't even HAVE guns here - i mean i personally think no security teams should actually have guns
but that's a talk for another time
and the main reason they shouldn't have guns on the mining site is because we have shit like
you know
explosives
that would react badly to such bullshit
I told the hoist chick that at this point we should really just frisk the security before *they* come in
to make sure they're not packing
anyway ACAB in all areas at this point and i say this as a person who did a lil security
(except i didn't have a gun and knew full well that my existence was to be a scarecrow and nothing more)
